A Lifetime Dedicated to Okinawan Martial Arts
With over 46 years of dedicated and uninterrupted practice, Shureikan is founded on a deep commitment to preserving and propagating the authentic essence of Okinawan martial arts in India.
Rooted in genuine lineage and guided by teachings received directly from Okinawa, our dojo stands for discipline, respect, and technical precision.
Every aspect of training follows traditional methods, ensuring that Shorin-Ryu Karate and Okinawa Kobudo are taught in their purest form.
Shureikan is not merely a training center, but a place where martial arts are practiced as a lifelong path of self-cultivation, character building, and cultural preservation.
Founder’s Martial Journey
The journey began in 1979, with foundational Karate training at Badokai Academy under Renshi R. V. T. Mani, continuing rigorously until 1989.
In 1991, in pursuit of traditional purity, training commenced in Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan system under Sensei Rethinam, lasting a decade and culminating in promotion to Sandan (3rd Dan) Black Belt in 2000.
To further refine authentic understanding, training continued in 2004 under Sensei Raja Mani in the Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu lineage, leading to advancement to Nanadan (7th Dan) in 2018.
